The assault rifleman is the basic infantry unit of the Survivors. Although lightly armed and armored, the Survivor riflemen are effective in large groups against enemy infantry and light vehicles and beasts.[1]

Your standard gun-totin' Survivor. Give 'em a gun and a few instructions and hope they don't die too quickly and clog up the tracks of your tanks.
